The most important role I fill is that of recruiter. If I get good people filling important roles - the tournament will be successful. My predecessor left a great committee and I work hard to keep it that way. I feel fortunate this year to have staffed most (but not all) of the critical roles.

I'm still working on the third new committee member so I'll leave that news for another day. The good news for this year is that we have two new individuals filling important roles on the committee:

1. Rusty Dornbusch: Rusty has graciously agreed to lead the field layout team. A goal of mine for the last several years has been to find someone to fill this important role. Any temporary field used during the tournament has 27 interior points. Setting up one temporary field can consume 45 minutes. Last year we set up ten temporary fields. Having someone who can recruit and lead the team to perform this work will allow me to focus more effort coordinating between teams.
2. Missy Schlarman: After a two year hiatus, we again have an individual who's entire focus is on recruiting volunteers for the different roles. Missy is enthusiastic and committed to filling all the slots. As is the case above, having someone to fill this role will allow me to work more effectively coordinating between teams.
